Particulars of the vacancy for a Physical Training Mistress (European) in the Hong Keng Education Department.

Note:

The successful candidate must be prepared to take up

her duties in Hong Kong early in September next at the latest.

(1) Qualifications.

The Physical Training Mistress must possess

the diploma of a Physical Training College and will be required to assist in the Physical Training of children

in Government Schools. She should be able to give

remedial exercises. Experience of the Girl Guide movement

desirable.

Candidates must have had at least 3 years

teaching experience subsequent to attaining the

qualifying diploma, and be between 23 and 30 years of age.

Candidates to be unmarried. Candidates for the post

of mistress must be unmarried and it must be clearly

understood that a mistress who marries whether during her probationary period or after transfer to the permanent staff will be required to resign from the service and, except for the gratuity mentioned below, will forfeit all rights to passages, salary on voyage and pension.

Further if the mistress leaves the service for this

reason during her probationary period she will be

required to refund to the Government the cost of her

passage to the Colony. If however resignation on or with a view to marriage takes place after transfer to the permanent establishment and completion of 5 years service, the mistress may be granted a gratuity calculated
